    The person of Satan versus the problems of Satan:
    If the point of Revelation foremost has to do with things shortly to come to pass to a generation now past, (i.e. the Millennium, The New Heavens and Earth, and the Second coming), how is Satan now cast into the lake of fire to be tormented “for ever and ever”? Rev. 20:10 says: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Everything else said before can be explained as perfect types that are repeated to each generation, of what is the perfect ways of God. But here we had Satan not only bound but completely removed.
    What must be the point of what is being said here in these verses is not something that has anything to do with Satan personally, that he is now let out of the Lake of Fire. But rather with the problems that Satan has brought into the world are revisited again. Prior to the judgment we have Satan bound for a thousand years, during the same time that the Beast and the False Prophet are in the lake of fire. The Beast and the False Prophet have to do with the problem of emperor worship after the end of the Jewish religion void of their Messiah in chapter 19. The end of Satan has to do with the end of heathenism Gog and Magog (See Foy E. Wallace, Jr. The Book of Revelation.). The defeat of Satan for the church has to do with having conquered the death that Satan brought into the world by abiding in Christ. The gates of Hell did not prevail against the church, they overcame him by following Christ to the cross. The battle is with what Satan brought into the world, not with the person of Satan. The question of how the Millennium fits between chapters 19 and 21 in this reguard is not as difficult as it first seems after one understands what the Bible is actually trying to tell us. Satan having been defeated by Christ and then His firstfruits (Romans 16:20 “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”), does not mean that he should not be defeated by us.
    As for the end of Satan the person, this topic is not covered in Revelation. We know that “Satan” is still at work in the world, along with his many devils unlike what some preterits would have us believe. Christians are still at battle with him today. If the world lasts forever (Eccl. 1:4 “One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.” Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”) and God said in the beginning that what He made was good, meaning forever, when does Satan go to Hell? As long as there will be man on the earth we should expect there likewise to be a Satan here apposing us. It is only now only in Christ that he has received the death blow to the head, Genesis 3:15 to be overcome a second time by the Firstfruits.
    In Revelation 9 we see that devils are being let out of prison, and let out they only immediately are all too happy to continue to feed on fallen mankind. Satan should be understood to be no different in this regard. God said that because of man’s evil he could only allow him 130 years. In some way Satan is under punishment, yet allowed to tempt us for longer periods of time. In Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4 we see that devils are in Hell, yet we know that there are devils today.
    Robinson Pierpont Translation Jude 1:6 says ”And he has put the angels who did not keep their own dominion, but left their own dwelling place, under guard in perpetual chains in underworld gloom ready for the judgment of the great day.“ KJV 2 Peter 2:4 says “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ...” . Satan is no different than these angels, but now his name can refer to anyone. Jesus called Peter Satan, and said to His apostles that they knew not what sprit they were of in Luke 9:55. In Luke 11:18 Satan is spoken of as a unity of evil forces. The word Satan represents the mindset of the world he created.
    The end we are left with in Revelation 22 is a world where there are sinners on earth that surround the camp of the saints. The Bible does not teach that the wicked are far off, even in Abrahams Bosom they are only across a great chasm. Nor does it need to be necessary for God to end the world so He can rightly judge Satan or put him in Hell.
    The fate of Satan and how God deals with him has something to do with these continuing problems in this world. The sin of Satan is far more continuous than any human could ever imagine, yet at the same time there was never any time where Satan rejected salvation from his sinful state, which may be the greatest of all sins. Satan and his fallen angles receive judgment, how and in what way it is terrifying and marvelous. God is just and holy, and must punish sin, yet He allows Satan to still be an advocate for sin. Satan sins and God punishes him that’s the golden rule.

     A literal end to the world:;
    If the world were to literally end as Futurists believe, the Bible says nothing directly about it that I can find, but rather can be argued to infer the opposite (Hebrews 7:17,21, Revelation 21:24). Yet, there is nothing to stop this from happening, man is destroying the world. You cannot eat fish without eating mercury that comes from our smokestacks, you cannot drink water without big brother adding fluoride to it, which foremost is absorbed into our brains, and the genetically modified corn is killing all the bees. It could happen that God would need to end the world just to be merciful to mankind. But this is not the point, nor the greater fulfillment of what was too shortly to come to pass. Anything that happens after the generation of Christ is only prophesied to be a recapitulation and shadow of the first, just as we have seen now for 2000 years. The Bible says nothing foremost and directly about an end to the literal universe that I can find to argue. 2 Peter 3 has to do with a world outside of another world, something that God destroys in order that the New Heavens and Earth can be seen. This is figurative language, Jesus came in the flesh, physical matter is not the problem that is being addressed in 2 Peter 3.
    However, having said this let me point out that it is my personal preference to believe that perhaps the physical planet will not end. As far as Redirectionalism is concerned it may or may not dictate absolutely that the world will end and that there will be a final judgment on that day. Redirectionalism is not giving me this necessarily in that regard. Perhaps there is something I am missing, but I think what is relevant is not in the far off distant future as some Postmillennial Partial Preterists say, but the present and the world that we are presently in that dictates the immediate future. I can't be concerned about something millions of years off in the distance, to me personally its irrelevant. And I define my world by the world of Jesus and the apostles, not something I can know nothing about.
